Edgewater is delighted to announce that Samantha Hall, John Walker & Bryan O’Connor were all presented with awards at the recent annual dinner of the local branch of the CII, the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man.
Samantha, the youngest person on the island to achieve the Dip PFS qualification, was awarded the Glyn Gilbert Award, which is the highest award presented by the institute, for outstanding academic success in financial planning examinations. The award was presented by Grant Scott, National Vice President of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
John received the Financial Planners & Insurance Brokers Association Prize (FPIBA) which is awarded for academic success in financial planning examinations & Bryan was presented with the Aon Insurance Prize for academic success in insurance examinations.
Commenting on the successes, Sandra Cardwell, MD of Edgewater said “We are thrilled that Samantha, John & Bryan all received awards at the dinner and this affirms our commitment to the professional development of all of our staff. To have passed the exams they did recently is a great achievement in itself, but to be awarded for achieving the highest marks on the island really is a fantastic accomplishment. Career development is a major focus for us here at Edgewater and I look forward to continuing to work with all three as their careers progress”
Samantha is a key member of the Client Services Team and provides administrative support to Edgewater’s growing team of Financial Consultants. She received the Young Achiever’s Award at the institute dinner last year.
John is a Paraplanner and has been with the firm since early 2013. In addition to sitting on Edgewater’s Investment Committee, he assists Sandra in supporting her clients and works closely with the Corporate & Employee Benefits Team.
Bryan joined Edgewater in 2016 and leads the insurance team. He has more than 10 years local insurance experience & manages a portfolio of local and international companies’ insurance arrangements, including some of the largest accounts on the island. In addition to his Edgewater responsibilities, Bryan is the Education Secretary for the institute and is a past President.
