Edgewater invests in the future

Edgewater invests in the future of financial advice profession with three new appointments

Edgewater, the Isle of Man’s largest independent financial advice firm, is delighted to announce the appointment of three new advisers. Samantha Hall and Terrence Lundin have been appointed as Financial Consultants in the Private Client team, and Emma Keogh a Protection Adviser. All three bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles from diverse backgrounds.

Terrence and Samantha in our Private Client team will specialise in offering holistic advice on investments, pensions, and insurance to Edgewater’s non-corporate client base. Both Samantha and Terrence are members of the Personal Finance Society and hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Terrence left his native South Africa and lived in London for 8 years before moving to the Island in 2008. His passion – beyond spending time with his wife, son, and dogs – is providing excellent service and helping people to achieve their financial goals. Samantha has been with Edgewater for 6 years and, through her work ethic and determination, progressed quickly to become a key member of the team. She is a past recipient of the Glyn Gilbert Award from the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man for outstanding academic achievement in completing her Level 4 Diploma before age 21.

Emma joins the Mortgage and Protection team and will advise clients with lending and insurance needs. Emma worked in financial services in Ireland before moving to the island and is a member of the Personal Finance Society, studying for the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Emma joined Edgewater in March 2019 after 7 years in an international bank in Dublin and previously worked as a Client Manager and Paraplanner in Edgewater’s Corporate Solutions team. She cares deeply about her work and will always ‘go the extra mile’ in achieving the correct result for her clients.

Commenting on the appointments, Sandra Cardwell, Managing Director of Edgewater, noted: “We have seen considerable expansion over the past 4 years, through business acquisitions and our increased profile, and our new advisers will deliver a further boost in providing outstanding service to our clients.

“Much has been made in the press of the age profile of our profession with one recent survey claiming over 60% of financial advisers plan to retire in the next 10 years. However, with two of our new advisers aged under 35, we are pleased to be bucking the trend. I am reassured that the future of financial advice on the Isle of Man is in safe hands.

“I look forward to working with all three members of our team in the years ahead to help shape our clients’ financial future.”
