Edgewater is pleased to announce that two of its rising stars, Samantha Hall and John Walker, were presented with awards for outstanding academic achievement in insurance and financial services at the recently-held annual dinner of the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man.

Client Manager Samantha received the Young Achiever’s Award which acknowledges the outstanding achievement of young professionals aged under 35 in the local insurance and financial services industry. To date, Samantha has completed four of the six examinations required by the Personal Finance Society for Diploma status – an impressive feat at the tender age of 18.

Paraplanner John was presented with the Financial Planners and Insurance Brokers Association Award for the highest examination mark achieved in financial services on the Isle of Man for his Certificate in Financial Planning (CertPFS). Moreover, in a first for the Isle of Man, John received the Worshipful Company of Insurers Prize from Dame Inga Beale (CEO of Lloyds of London) for the highest mark in the UK in completing the CertPFS.

Commenting on the awards dinner, which is held for members of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society and which was attended by over 20 Edgewater staff, Sandra Cardwell, Managing Director, noted: “We are passionate at Edgewater about developing our staff and investing in their future. The event showcased not only the wealth of services we can provide to Island residents but also the quality of the advice they will receive.

“The achievements of Sam and John are remarkable given how short a time they have been in the profession. Knowing how hard they have worked to-date, I can guarantee there will be more success in the years to come!”
